Florida holiday flower calendar
Florida-florist calendar of every flower-gifting holiday — Valentine's, Mother's Day, Día de los Muertos, Christmas — with order-by dates for SWFL & Miami.
April 25, 2026 · Olympus Flowers Team

Most flower-gifting failures aren't taste failures. They're calendar failures. Here's the year, holiday by holiday, with the order-by dates that actually matter for SWFL and Miami delivery.
How to read this calendar
- Order-by date = the latest you can order without risking substitutions or sold-out add-ons.
- Same-day cutoff = our standard 1pm ET cutoff for delivery the same day, applies on the holiday itself.
- Premium products (cakes, character delivery, wine pairings, custom recipes) lock earlier than the order-by date — usually 3–5 days ahead.
You can always check live cutoffs and editions on /holidays/calendar.
January
New Year's Eve / Day
Lower-volume holiday. Order 24 hours ahead for Dec 31. Roses and champagne pairings sell most.
February
Valentine's Day (Feb 14)
The single biggest flower-gifting day. Roses spike 4–6× normal price at the wholesale level in early February. What this means for you:
- Order by Feb 7 for best selection of premium recipes.
- Order by Feb 12 for the standard catalog.
- Order by Feb 13 noon ET for any guarantee on Feb 14.
- Feb 14 itself = same-day Designer's Choice only, 1pm cutoff.
- Day-of red roses are the first thing to sell out. White and blush roses, lilies, tulips, ranunculus stay available longer.
March
International Women's Day (Mar 8)
Underrated in the US, big in Latin culture. We see real volume from Miami. Order 48 hours ahead for guaranteed inventory.
St. Patrick's Day (Mar 17)
Light volume. Same-day usually fine.
April
Easter / Good Friday
Weekend-dependent. Order by Wednesday of Easter week. Lilies sell out first. Some recipients prefer pastels — note the preference.
Administrative Professionals' Day (last Wed of April)
Office-delivery surge. Order by Monday of that week. Choose office address; deliver between 10am and 2pm.
May
Mother's Day (2nd Sunday)
Biggest day of the year for us. Full guide: Mother's Day flower delivery in SWFL
- 2 weeks out: custom + premium pieces.
- 1 week out: specialty add-ons (cakes, wine, gift sets).
- Friday: standard catalog.
- Saturday: Designer's Choice.
- Sunday: Designer's Choice only, 11am ET cutoff.
Día de las Madres (Mexico, May 10)
Important in Miami, especially for Mexican-American recipients. Different day than US Mother's Day. Order by May 8.
Memorial Day
Sympathy / cemetery arrangements. Order 3 days ahead for cemetery deliveries; some cemeteries have strict drop windows.
June
Father's Day (3rd Sunday)
Lighter than Mother's Day, still meaningful. Plant arrangements, succulents, and "manly" recipes (greens, citrus accents) sell well. Order by Friday of that week.
Pride Month
We do custom Pride bouquets all month. Lead time 48 hours.
July
4th of July
Light flower volume. Patriotic centerpieces for parties — order 48 hours ahead if you want a custom palette.
August
Slow month for flowers. Anniversaries and birthdays only. Same-day almost always available. Tropical flowers (orchids, anthurium, heliconia) handle the heat best.
September
Grandparents' Day (1st Sunday after Labor Day)
Quiet but real. Order 48 hours ahead.
Rosh Hashanah
Symbolic flowers (apples, pomegranates accents, white + gold). Lead time 3 days.
October
Sweetest Day (3rd Saturday in October — Midwest tradition)
Light volume here, real volume from out-of-state senders ordering to SWFL. Order 48 hours ahead.
Halloween
Centerpieces with seasonal palette. Lead time 3 days.
November
Día de los Muertos (Nov 1–2)
Important across Miami, growing in SWFL. Marigold-heavy recipes with strong color. Order by Oct 28 — marigolds are seasonal and we don't always cut more.
Veterans Day
Sympathy and cemetery delivery. 3 days ahead.
Thanksgiving
Order by Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. Centerpieces sell out by Wednesday afternoon. Hostess gifts (small bouquets) available same-day Wed/Thu morning.
December
Hanukkah
Variable date. Blue/silver/white palette. Order by 3 days before the first night.
Christmas
Order by Dec 22 for Christmas Eve delivery. Dec 24 = same-day until 1pm ET, then closed. Dec 25 we are closed. Dec 26 re-opens with limited Designer's Choice.
New Year's Eve
Order by Dec 30, expect higher delivery surcharges in Miami (party traffic).
What every "wait, I forgot" person should know
If you forgot, the play is the same every time:
- Open /arrangements.
- Pick the largest Designer's Choice in your budget.
- Pay for the earliest delivery slot.
- Write a real personal note — not "Happy Mother's Day", not "Happy Birthday". A specific memory.
Designer's Choice always uses the freshest stems on the truck and will always look better than the picture you'd otherwise pick from a generic catalog.
